Asian Concrete Model Code (ACMC), which was printed for the first time in 2001, is the first international model code for civil engineering structure in Asia. The two main features of ACMC are performance-based concept and multi-document structure, which is the best fitting to great diversity in Asia. ACMC has been serving as not only a model code for national codes but also means to introduce latest technology in Asian region.
International Committee for Concrete Model Code for Asia (ICCMC), who is the body to maintain ACMC, has been closely collaborating with ISO/TC71 (Concrete, Reinforced Concrete and Prestressed Concrete). TC71's new sub-committee, SC7 (Maintenance and Repair of Concrete Structures) was established by the efforts of ICCMC and has started drafting its ISO document, an umbrella code for maintenance, based on ACMC.
